Every space in a home should have a sense of harmony, balance, taste, and warmth. The test of a great home interior is that no matter what your preferred style, you feel good -- every time you walk into it.
For the past 20 years, I have enjoyed creating environments that enhance people's lives. It is a process we do together as a team. I have completed projects of all styles and scale, all over the San Francisco Bay area, from Napa and Sonoma, to the East Bay, Marin, and Portola Valley, as well as Park City Utah, Kona Hawaii, and Manhattan Beach CA.
Starting out as an artist, with a successful career in the fabric arts, I became passionate about interior design, and studied at the California College of the Arts and UC Berkeley, where I learned the many skills of a professional interior designer such as architectural plan drawing, space planning, perspective drawing, code requirements, lighting design, materials selection, color theory, and the like. In 2005 I joined ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) as an Allied Member.
I work with many talented craftsmen, contractors, artisans, architects, fabricators, and installers that I have found over the years, people that love what they do, do beautiful work, and are realistically priced. Having a great selection of talent on a given project is a terrific asset that has proven its worth time and again for my clients. With every single project, my intention is to give the client a wonderful result at a reasonable cost.
In addition to my individual work, for the past 10 years I have enjoyed a collaboration with the very talented architect M. Dean Jones, based in Tiburon, CA. (www.mdeanjonesarchitect.com)
Together we have completed many beautiful projects, all over the San Francisco Bay area. In the portfolio page, you can view some examples of that work, such as the Portola Valley home in the Craftsman style, and the homes in Napa.
Because I also love to paint, clients have often asked me to paint a custom canvas, mural, tromp l'oeil, or faux-finish as part of the design project. You can view some examples of that artwork at www.jeribrittellart.com.
I look forward to discussing your design needs and ideas.
